New York City, New York

Extra's casting with Lori Eastside down on the Bowery. Our core group of club kids are going to be fabulous. Larry Tee (one of the cowriters of "Supermodel") comes by with his electroposse. It's so gratifying that the electro thing is back; we think the first time around it got short shrift from a rock press convinced that anything electronic was inauthentic. Only the previous week Simon Reynolds - who once championed this dim-witted point of view - wrote a fawning New York Times piece hailing the new trend.

After the casting calls we met up with Mac and Jimmy Harry (another of the co writers of "Supermodel"). Jimmy is doing the music for the film and an old friend of ours from way back when. We decided to use an old Pop Tart song in the film (Money, Success, Fame, Glamour) but we need Mac to re-record the vocals. We were all crammed up in a tiny lower eastside walk-up apartment. Mac tossed on the headphones and got it in a couple of takes. It reminded us of our youth, watching Mac sing an old Pop Tart song.
